About Me

Brisbane, Queensland, Australia
I love plants and gardening. I also like to take photos. Lots of them! I just love the diverse colour, shapes and texture that plants provide and never tire of them. With my partner Peter, we run Outside Impact a Retail Nursery. I am so very fortunate to be surrounded by the things I am passionate about and I hope to share some of their beauty that is my world.

Succulents

Have developed a real soft spot for succulents recently.  Especially in containers.  Once again these are so easy to propagate from cuttings and come in a multitude of colour shape and form. As you can see I like to grow things that are easy, plants that I can produce myself with a minimum of fuss.  Succulents certainly fit into this catagory provided you pick the ones suited for your conditions.

  1. Succulents, not cacti? It would be hard to develop a 'soft spot' for some of the spiky ones. LOL. I like the combination of shapes and colours in you succulent pot.

  4. Very striking photos Jo. These are photos anyone would be proud of! I'm not a fan of succulents , but I love the Coleus family. When I was young I lived in Malaysia, and our house was full of Coleus - it's probably the first plant I was able to name.

  5. Thank you for your encouraging and kind words. Apologies for not getting back to you sooner, we have had a huge amount of rain over the past few weeks and our telephone line and computer have been playing up. Shouldn't complain though as so many of my fellow Queenslanders have lost everthing in the most terrible flooding.
